Volunteer With ECAR at Clemson

Every Campus a Refuge is Clemson University’s branch of a national initiative that creates ecosystems of welcome and integration support for refugees resettled in Clemson and meaningful, global learning experiences in the Clemson community. Our work is spearheaded by a faculty-led Creative Inquiry team, which aims to develop interdisciplinary experiential projects that connect, welcome, and empower our refugee neighbors in partnership with Clemson’s local resettlement agency, Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC). However, we can’t do this work without the help of student, faculty, and community volunteers! Some of our past projects have included co-hosting a community dinner with a refugee family, providing English instruction to individuals and families catered to their personal and professional goals, and offering childcare while adults take English classes. This year, we will further some of these projects and even as we develop new ones.
